Welcome to Delighting in God. This is a blog for people who want to delight in and treasure Christ Jesus more and more; which is my goal.
Why treasure Jesus Christ? Because He is the most unique individual to have ever have walked the Planet. He was the God-Man. What is most important is that He was born to die on the cross and to then to live again, being raised from the dead. He, at the cross, bore the sin of those that would believe in Him, taking the wrath of God for that sin and shed His blood for it. He then died on the cross, was buried for 3 days and rose from the dead, defeating death and sin for His own, purchasing forgiveness, grace, mercy and adoption for them. He then ascended to Heaven, after being raised from the dead and He sits at the Right hand of the Most High, waiting to return to gather His own to Himself and to Judge the rest of the world and punish them for their sin against Him. That is why Jesus Christ should be Treasured!
The goal of this blog is to cause Jesus to be treasured more and more! That is why it is a Christ-Centered Blog. It is also a cross-Centered Blog. Why? Because the Cross is everything. If it weren’t for the Cross of Jesus Christ, there would be nothing but Judgment for the entire world. If God the Father wouldn’t have planned the Cross, Adam and Eve would have been wiped out at the beginning. We wouldn’t have ever have been here.
This blog will include personal scripture meditations, book reviews, author quotes, conferences and news of other ministries. . . as well as anything that Glorifies Christ.
This blog if for Jesus Christ and His Cross. How beautiful the cross is and the One who hung on it!

Meet the Author. My name is Mark Helfrich. I am a twenty year old guy saved by sovereign grace (Ephesians 2:1-10). God through His grace, did to me what Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 4:6. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” God did that to me through the Resolved Conference in 2007. At that time I was an idolater. After the conference, I knew that God the Father hated sin but I hadn’t given His Son my life. I had given it over to Idols. So God in is mercy and grace the Tuesday after the conference called me out of the world (Romans 8:30) and I surrendered my life to His Son Jesus Christ. There is nothing better than knowing my God and Savior Christ Jesus! This blog is so that I might learn to treasure Jesus more and more and to fall more and more in Love with him for what He has done for me. Taking my sin and paying for the wrath for me so that I might be clothed in His righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Currently, I’m a student in college full-time and working in a library part-time.
I’m writing this blog mainly for me. It might seem selfish, but I’m doing it so that I might continue to grow spiritually and continue to Treasure and Love Jesus more and more. I want to be unselfish so in writing on the blog i get to post about the things that helped me continue to Love and Treasure Christ Jesus more, so hopefully those same things will cause others to Love and Treasure Jesus Christ even more. That is how I’m being unselfish, by giving the ideas to others to help them Love and Treasure Jesus. And the more and I and others Love and Treasure Jesus, the more He is glorified. We were created to glorify Christ and I hope that this blog does just that. So what that means is that it doesn’t matter if people read my blog or not. Comments, feedback and page hits don’t matter because it’s for Jesus and my walk with Him.

Thanks for the comment John and Linda. I actually think it was Linda who actually made to comment. I am trying to not idolize my blog but remember it leads to an end, Jesus, and it in itself is not an end, but a path way to Christ Jesus, I hope will be for many. Thanks again! For His Glory, Mark
